Simply Blood

Friday’s edition of the free newspaper Metro told how the Simply Red singer Mick Hucknall has launched a legal battle to prevent his neighbour from accessing his ‘exclusive country sports estate’ in Ireland. The Irish Times reports the debacle here.

The website for Glenmore Rivers – Hucknall’s company – boasts:

Glenmore offers  24,000 acres (10,000 hectares) of shooting including stalking for Red deer, World-class woodcock and snipe over pointers and spaniels or duck flighting on mountain lakes. Throw into the pot the occasional walked-up grouse, mountain hare, pigeon or pheasant and you get a sense of the variety of shooting available to you here.

We always thought ‘Simply Red’ was a reference to his hair colour, not to the sick bloodsports he so obviously enjoys.
